Milwaukee Police Department Public Information Office February 2026 update

While not an all-inclusive reflection of all of the items MPD PIO shared for the month, here is a sampling of the MPD initiatives, engagement efforts, and community safety information that was shared with the public on our social media platforms for the month of February.

MPD's priorities to communicate to our public are as follows:

1.  Community - posts/stories focusing on community engagement efforts.

In December 2025, the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) became aware of a significant allegation of improper use of its Flock technology by one of our members, Police Officer Josue Ayala. Chief Jeffrey Norman immediately directed the MPD Internal Affairs Division (IAD) to initiate a criminal investigation into the misconduct and place Officer Ayala on full suspension pending the outcome of said internal investigation.
