STATEWIDE COALITION ANNOUNCES

Forward Latino and the 80% Coalition comprised of over 30 business, faith-based, service, advocacy, medical professional organizations and more have announced an “EMERGENCY GUN VIOLENCE SUMMIT in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 25, 2023. The summit will include national and local gun violence prevention experts, elected officials, pollsters, and survivors who will share their personal stories of tragedy and loss. The purpose of the summit is to educate the public on the issue of gun violence prevention, provide important resources and to encourage our elected officials to implement commonsense gun violence prevention legislation that will save lives across the state.

Darryl Morin, National President of Forward Latino and founding member of the 80% Coalition stated, “Following the tragedy at the Christian Covenant School in Nashville in which three 9-year-old children where killed along with 3 school staff, the shooting of Ralph Yarl who was shot in the head and arm for ringing a doorbell at the wrong address, and the shooting of a 6-year-old-girl and her parents after her ball rolled into their neighbors yard it is clear, that we now live in a state of emergency because of gun violence.”
