Milwaukee Police Department Public Information Office June 2024 Update

While not an all-inclusive reflection of all of the items MPD PIO shared for the month, here is a sampling of the MPD initiatives, engagement efforts, and community safety information that was shared with the public on our social media platforms for the month of June.

MPD's priorities to communicate to our public are as follows:

Suspects Criminally Charged in Connection to Armed Robberies
That Resulted in an Officer Involved Shooting
MILWAUKEE, WI – On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office issued criminal charges against Calveyon A. Jeans, Ashley Z. Patterson, Tyrone C. Rogers and Semira A. Dean for their involvement in two armed robberies, and fleeing that resulted in an officer involved shooting.
The incident occurred on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at approximately 2:23 p.m., when the defendants were involved in a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit ended when the driver of the vehicle moved into the construction lane on I-43 near W. Vienna Avenue and was blocked by the construction and a cement truck. MPD officers approached the vehicle, gave several commands to stop the vehicle and commanded the suspects to get out of the vehicle. The suspect driver reversed the vehicle striking a marked squad car. The suspect driver drove forward and then reversed the vehicle. An officer was located behind the vehicle.  At this time, another officer discharged his firearm into the vehicle subsequently striking two suspects. A total of six suspects were in the vehicle.
Jeans was charged with one count of Attempt Armed Robbery – As a Party to a Crime, one count of Armed Robbery – As a Party to a Crime, one count of Operating a Motor Vehicle to Flee or in an Attempt to Elude an Officer, one count of Drive or Operate a Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent, one count of First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, one count of Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, one count of Possession of a Firearm by Adjudicated Delinquent, one count of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent – As a Party to a Crime and one count of Theft – Movable Property – As a Party to a Crime. If convicted, he could face up to 114 years in prison and fined up to $290,000.
Patterson and Rogers were charged with one count of Attempt Armed Robbery – As a Party to a Crime, one count of Armed Robbery – As a Party to a Crime and one count of Operating Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent (Known Passenger). If convicted, they could face up to 60 years, 9 months in prison and fined up to $160,000.
Dean was charged with one count of Attempt Armed Robbery – As a Party to a Crime, one count of Armed Robbery – As a Party to a Crime, one count of Operating Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent (Known Passenger) one count of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent – As a Party to a Crime and one count of Theft – Movable Property – As a Party to a Crime. If convicted, they could face up to 72 years, 9 months in prison and fined up to $180,000.

This contact information could be available to law enforcement agencies in the event that you are in a collision or are experiencing a medical emergency. This information may save crucial time if ever it becomes necessary to contact your family members or other loved ones.

As part of every application for a Wisconsin driver license or ID card, the applicant will be asked if they would like to include emergency contact information in their file. Members of the Milwaukee Retired Police Association (MRPA) toured the Milwaukee Police Department Specialized Patrol Division!

The MRPA began in 1975 when a number of retired cops got together to form an organization with the goal of keeping in touch with each other after serving years together.

They are celebrating their 49th year anniversary with over 1200 members from coast to coast ranging in age from 42 to 98.
